Look at you.
Standing there with your Molotov cocktail, boot lifted to kick in another window, screaming for justice while tearing down the city with your own bare hands. Using a man’s name to justify destroying another man’s livelihood.
Your mother would be so proud.
What happened to George Floyd was wrong. It was senseless brutality from a man with a history of brutality, but what you’re doing now is no better.
These businesses that are struggling…these people who are still reeling from the effects of a virus…these police officers who put their lives on the line every single day…they don’t deserve this.
Shame on you.
Your cries for justice are lost under the sound of breaking glass.
You want change? You want your voice to be heard? Then stop voting in the system that enabled a monster to patrol your streets.
Hold these people accountable, not your community. The mayor, the governor, the district attorney, local officials…so many of them looked the other way, refusing to hold this man accountable for his actions…and it went on for years.
Don’t blame the community. Don’t take out your anger on your community. The only thing this violence does is undermine what you want to achieve. It tramples over a good man’s death and assures that there will be no justice for him.
You want change? You want true equality? It has to start with you. An election is coming. Use your voice in a way that matters and VOTE THEM OUT.
