When Worship Breaks Out

It’s time to stop putting God in a box.

He just doesn’t fit.

It’s time to stop waiting to praise until we’re in a building.

There is no pause button on worship.

Worship is more than an event at your local church. Worship is deeper than following words on a screen. Worship was never meant to be scripted, or sung in a monotone of polite decorum. Worship doesn’t cater to egos or pride. Worship doesn’t care what other people think. Worship doesn’t follow a time schedule. Worship doesn’t even need music to thrive.

Worship is at the heart of your relationship with Christ.

It’s just you, at your deepest level, belting out how much you love Jesus. It’s just you, living your life as an act of praise to the One who saved you. It’s just you, living your life every day with one goal in mind, to love the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind.

Get off the couch and lift your hands. Sing when you’re doing the dishes. Praise God when you’re driving in traffic. Facing a difficult situation? Worship God. Feeling stuck in a rut? Worship God. Had a victory? Worship God. With every breath and every thought and every action, no matter how mundane or grand, tell God how much you love Him.

And God will love you back.

So crank up the music, close your eyes and lift your hands to God, because when worship breaks out your life will never be the same.
